"Enduring Promise" is a visual, tangible commitment of honor and recognition for Indiana's military service members who are Missing in Action (MIA) and their families, who have sacrificed so much for our nation. These families have no closure for their loss, no grave to visit with flowers on special dates of importance, and an unknown outcome of their loved one's life. As Americans, we owe them a promise and commitment that -

WE will always remember their sacrifice. WE will never forget the price. This promise is our Enduring Promise.

Enduring Promise will place and dedicate personalized bricks honoring Indiana's 1,500 WWII Hoosiers who remain Missing in Action. The bricks will bear the name of each Indiana WWII MIA service member, their branch of service, rank, and date lost.

This project completes a trilogy of Bricks of Honor (Korean War - 2021 and Vietnam War - 2019) placed and dedicated to Indiana’s Missing in Action. With maximum visibility, the bricks are placed at the base of the Soldiers and Sailors Monument located on Monument Circle, in the center of Indianapolis and Indiana.

A public dedication ceremony is planned on September 2, 2026, during America's semi-quincentennial year, on the 81st anniversary of the signing of Japan's surrender on the deck of the USS Missouri. Over 2,000 attendees are anticipated to attend the ceremony.
