EricsHouse Impact:

- To date, EricsHouse has provided 2,018 one-on-one grief support sessions.

- We have held 62 peer-led groups supporting individuals from all walks of life with a total of 4,472 sessions.

- Taken together, our compassionate and caring support has resulted in 6,490 sessions since June 2019.

Our vision for the future is that no one impacted by these losses grieves alone. While we have supported over 500 families, our goal for the next 18 months is to support 1200 families.

As many people as we have reached, we know that there are a large number of people who need support after devastating loss, but have nowhere to turn. More than 95% of these grievers get only limited early support through the funeral ... or none at all.

To begin to address the vast unmet need, we need to grow:

We need to expand and enhance our outreach so the bereaved can find us even in the darkest, most confusing and crushing moments of their lives.
We need to train and develop more certified volunteer Grief Companions to facilitate groups and meet with clients individually, including developing expanded internal training. We also need to host more events to deepen the connections within our Companion Community.
We need to expand our holistic support to further address the emotional, physical, social, cognitive, and spiritual aspects of deep grief.
We need more regional meet-ups, retreats, and workshops for members to strengthen their in-person connections.
We need to continue development of our infrastructure to support these expanded activities.

The EricsHouse support model is centered on peer-based connection. We are not psychologists or counselors, we are peers in loss. This Peer Support approach has been shown to be most effective for many survivors, allowing them to break free of the isolation and feelings of aloneness.

Our primary support mechanisms include one-on-one companioning sessions and support groups. We follow a methodology developed and taught to us by Dr. Alan Wolfelt, a world-renowned psychologist and grief expert. We also add nondenominational spiritual companioning and health coaching, as needed, to address the systemic effects of grief.

One-on-one sessions are often most appropriate for those early in their grief. We create a sense of connection and safety that allows the griever to open up about their personal tragedy and begin learning to mourn.

Our groups naturally have the biggest impact. Our groups are organized by relationship and manner of loss. It is remarkable how deep the connections become in these small, safe-space communities.

We also hold workshops, retreats, and special events to support the needs of the healing griever.
