Shining Together in Motion is more than an event, it’s a vibrant festival of movement, inclusion, and community set against the French Quarter backdrop of Assembly Atlanta!!

On Saturday, April 18, 2026, the French Quarter streetscape will transform into a high-energy celebration of adaptive sports, inclusive fitness, and Autism Awareness Month. The festival brings together autistic children, youth, and adults, along with families, friends, caregivers, and community supporters, for an afternoon of connection, discovery, and joy.

Guests can explore demonstrations and interactive experiences in adaptive soccer, basketball, tennis, baseball, and inclusive fitness led by leading adaptive sports organizations from across Metro Atlanta. Resource partners, health and wellness vendors, food trucks, and sensory-friendly spaces will offer opportunities for families to learn, engage, and experience inclusion in motion.

This year’s festival continues to grow with expanded community partnerships and visibility. We are proud to partner again with Challenge 2 Get Fit, whose leadership in adaptive fitness helps create meaningful movement opportunities for participants of all abilities.

We are also excited to partner with La Que Buena 101.9/87.7 FM, helping us expand outreach and connect with a broader and more diverse audience across our region. Their support is helping ensure more families learn about and experience this inclusive community celebration.

The event will also feature appearances by current and former professional athletes, live media and radio coverage, and expanded programming designed to create an engaging and welcoming festival atmosphere.

What began as a smaller community gathering has quickly grown into a signature event that reflects what’s possible when communities come together to create spaces where autistic individuals and their families feel seen, supported, and connected.
