Welcome to Maui Music Mission, where we help kids discover the joy of music and provide access to full music education programs with reduced or free tuition. Founded by Ronda and Reuben Pali, Maui Music Mission is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to offering diverse music lessons to the children of Maui.

Mission Manifesto

We at Maui Music Mission call upon parents, educators, and policymakers to invest in music education for the benefit of our keiki and communities. After School Music Club is fun and fully comprehensive! Our students are propelled toward their dreams by our unique, multiple-instrument immersion into music, equipping them with superior cognitive development, heightened emotional intelligence, broad cultural awareness, confident social etiquette, and even better posture with fine motor dexterity.

We believe that the principles of music provide a firm foundation for a lifetime of learning, inspiring hope for the future, and that a dream fulfilled is a tree of life! After School Music Club is reaching displaced keiki island-wide with a new studio at The Cameron Center in Wailuku.

What is the Need?

Trauma causes disconnection of structural neurons, making us feel ‘stuck’. We can get ‘un-stuck’ through connection within self and community. Music helps us to do exactly that. The impact is profound, and the effect on the nervous system can be instantaneous. Without help, the developmental instability of disconnection can plummet a person into mental and emotional despair.

Program Activities

We are strengthening the community on all levels, starting with our island keiki by helping them to recognize that they, themselves, are a powerful instrument when they are connected to music.

Access to Music Education: We cannot stand idly by while children in Maui’s public elementary schools go without access to this critical piece of the education puzzle.
Cultural Foundation: Music is the foundation of culture and deep-rooted legacy for good reasons. It transforms us through the physiological response to rhythm and sound vibration, but we just notice that it feels good and it’s invigorating!
Emotional Journey: Music takes us on a journey, telling a story of the heart. Music is feeling, communication, and connection. Some say music is “what feelings sound like.”

The After School Music Club (ASMC)

Our After School Music Club provides students with two hours of music lessons, three times a week! This comprehensive program includes ukulele and piano, singing, percussion, music theory, and stage performance training.

Provide ongoing support by covering a student's monthly tuition, which includes:

Comprehensive training in ukulele, piano, percussion, singing, and performance
Over 24 hours of instruction per month
