Horses for Heroes is our equine program that is run by our very own equine director, Rachael Sickenberger. New research shows that equine therapy is a treatment method that uses the connection between people and horses to enhance emotional healing. This can jump start the healing process for veterans who suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Horses can sense when a Veteran is in pain, suffering from anxiety or fighting through another hidden wound. They can provide a sense of calm during that moment. Our Horses for Heroes program consists of horseback riding lessons, trail riding, Horses 101 for military children as well as buy-a horse and sponsor-a-horse help a hero.
