Building Champions Together

The 13th Annual Fonseca Cup is introducing the Champions Purse: a cash prize pool for the champions of our four adult divisions (ages 18–34). We're inviting our community to make it as big as possible.

The Four Divisions

One champion will be crowned in each division:

Men's Open Weight Kumite
Women's Open Weight Kumite
Men's Kata
Women's Kata

The Purse Is Already on the Table

Banríon Capital Management started the Champions Purse with a $1,000 gift. That's why you'll see the purse "presented by Banríon": Banríon put up the starting money so our athletes have something real to compete for from day one.

Now Help Us Grow It

100% of every donation goes directly into the purse and straight to the four division champions. Banríon's gift sets the foundation, and our community decides how big it gets. Help us reach $6,000 by competition day.

Why It Matters

Adult karate athletes train at an elite level, often while working full time or going to school. Most pay their own way to compete regionally, nationally, and internationally, and once they age out of youth programs, the support usually stops. A meaningful cash prize rewards that dedication and can cover an athlete's next tournament entry, travel, or coaching. It also tells the region's best competitors that the Fonseca Cup is worth showing up for.
