When Sarah, a single mom in Houston, heard her daughter Rose say, “I’m having thoughts of hurting myself,” she felt her heart drop. The weight of it was overwhelming. In today’s economy, money was tight, and she wondered how she could possibly afford counseling for her daughter.

But she remembered her church had a partnership with Fuller Life, which made it possible to get affordable, professional therapy right away. Because of Fuller Life’s HEART Equity Fund, the sliding-scale rate was something she could manage.

Within days, Rose was meeting with a Fuller Life therapist, with whom she immediately connected.

Week by week, she returned.
She began talking openly about her suicidal thoughts — the way they would sneak up on her, overwhelm her, or tell her things that simply weren’t true.

Together, she and her Fuller Life Therapist practiced new ways to respond to those thoughts with awareness, compassion, and groundedness.
She practiced new ways to steady herself when those thoughts tried to pull her under.
She learned what was happening in her brain and body.
She learned she wasn’t alone.

And slowly, hope — and wellness — returned.

Sarah has her daughter back, and Rose is re-engaged in her life — back at school, reconnecting with friends, and creating art again.

And it all began because one partnership made therapy accessible when Rose and her mom needed it most.

Since 2012, Fuller Life Family Therapy Institute has been quietly transforming lives across Houston by offering affordable, compassionate, and clinically excellent mental health care. We train the next generation of diverse therapists while serving individuals and families who would otherwise go without support.
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving Greater Houston since 2012.

We train, equip, and empower developing therapists who provide professional therapy to families and individuals at affordable rates.

Our Vision

We envision underserved communities saturated with affordable mental health care and highly trained family therapists, ensuring that therapy is no longer a privilege but a resource available to all.

What We Offer

We provide professional family therapy:

at our main location,
via telehealth across Texas,
and at three partner locations in underserved communities.

Beginning January 2026, we will also provide therapy at:

West Orem YMCA
Duncan Family YMCA
in partnership with the YMCA’s Christian Initiatives.

Our Impact:

88% of our clients come from low- to extremely low-income households.
77% say they feel better by session five.
Our therapists receive 4× the required clinical supervision and training.
We’ve provided over 24,000 hours of reduced-fee therapy sessions thanks to community support.
