In Uganda, only about one in ten children who begin primary school makes it through Senior 6, the final year of A-level education.

Reaching this stage represents years of hard work, family sacrifice, and determination. Yet at John Paul Secondary School, S5 and S6 students have no dedicated A-level classrooms. Their classes meet wherever space is available, sometimes outside.

These students are studying specialized Arts and Sciences subjects and preparing for the UACE examinations that help shape their opportunities for university and further education. They need dependable places to concentrate, ask questions, discuss ideas, and work through challenging material with their teachers.

This Giving Tuesday, help us provide learning spaces that match their commitment and ambition.

Space for advanced learning

Our leading Giving Tuesday priority is to advance new learning spaces for S5 and S6 Arts and Sciences students.

Our vision is two large teaching halls with configurable sections, accommodating larger lessons and smaller subject groups. We are planning for S5 and S6 year groups of approximately 100–150 students each, divided between Arts and Sciences.

These spaces would give students a dependable place to learn and teachers greater flexibility to organize instruction around their subjects. Dedicated A-level laboratories are part of our longer-term vision.

Help make room for what comes next

Your generosity can help JPSS build a stronger learning environment for young people working toward their examinations, further education, and the futures they hope to create.

Your gift supports Friends of John Paul School’s work at JPSS, with new A-level learning spaces as our leading priority. We expect most proceeds from this appeal to support that work, while retaining flexibility to address other school needs as priorities and project plans develop.

Give today. Help make room for their next chapter.
