For 18 years, Founder Roblin J. Webb has championed literacy as liberation — impacting thousands of students and more than 700 alumni across six Freedom Prep schools.

Reading at Freedom Prep is a pathway for students to learn their history, imagine boldly, and claim their futures. With 100% college acceptance for all seniors, alumni like Bria (Vanderbilt Law) and Paul (Washington University/Yale BSC winner) show what’s possible.

The Next Chapter

In 2019, during a visit to The National Memorial for Peace and Justice in Montgomery, Ms. Webb felt a profound calling from her ancestors: the next chapter of Freedom Prep must reach across the South.

Dr. Genesis Player, our Managing Director for Alabama, has boldly answered the call to transform education in Alabama.

In 2024–25, we welcomed our first kindergarten and 1st-grade students in Birmingham. By 2025–26, under Dr. Player’s leadership, we grew nearly fourfold—now serving K–5.
