Family Promise of Grant County is launching our first-ever pickleball tournament fundraiser — and we’re serving up more than just fun. Every dollar raised will help prevent family homelessness right here in our local communities.

As a small nonprofit, we walk alongside families facing housing instability and help them find a path forward — whether that’s shelter, rental assistance, or support services to regain stability. Your participation in Paddles for Promise helps us keep children and their parents safely housed and supported as they work toward lasting independence.

About our Tournament: Recreational Pickleball Tournament

The Family Promise Paddle Battle is a fun, recreational pickleball tournament for novice to intermediate players. Each team is guaranteed at least three games during the group stage, with top teams advancing to bracketed semi-finals and a final championship match. Prizes will be awarded to the winning duo.

Tournament Details:

Two Brackets – Register in the Men's Bracket or the Women's/Mixed Bracket
One Recreational Division – All teams compete in this recreational tournament, not competitive.
Skill Level – This event is for players with a skill rating below 4.0.

(Beginner: 1.0–2.5 | Intermediate: 3.0–3.5)

This is a “fun first” tournament. Beginners are welcome to join, and intermediate players looking for a relaxed, enjoyable day of play will feel right at home. Most importantly, this event supports Family Promise of Grant County, with all proceeds going toward their mission.

Schedule:

Check-in Begins: 8:00 AM
Games Start: 9:00 AM and run every half hour
Match Schedule: Sent to participants by September 22

By registering, you agree to be available for the full day. Matches may be scheduled at any time.

What to Bring:

Lawn chairs
Snacks
A good attitude!

Extra water will be provided on-site. All other refreshments are up to participants.

Support Family Promise of Grant County: While your ticket price serves as admission to cover the cost of producing this tournament, Family Promise is looking to raise $5,000 through this unique fundraising event. When you register, consider making an additional donation to help homeless and low-income families achieve sustainable independence through a community-based response.

Inclement Weather Policy:

In the event of inclement weather on tournament day, the following protocol will take place.

Light Rain: Play On!
Lightning: 30-minute game delay. All games will be pushed back to the next half-hour time slot.
If lightning does not cease or heavy rain becomes dangerous for participants, the remainder of the tournament will be canceled.

All weather and play decisions are at the discretion of the tournament director and Family Promise staff. If at any point the tournament is canceled, participants will be notified via email. There will be no rain date. No refunds will be issued for the tournament as this is still a fundraising event first and foremost.
