The driving force behind this initiative is a deep commitment to safety and support for the trans community. This retreat aims to provide a safe haven for trans individuals, particularly those who, like Monica Jones, encounter transphobia even in spaces meant for advocacy, such as at the 2024 International AIDS conference, where men attempted to physically intimidate Monica, yelling and shouting at her in the lobby. Monica’s courageous spirit inspires us all to fight against systemic oppression, and through this retreat, we seek to uplift those who are facing burnout and emotional exhaustion.

In honor of a remarkable milestone—Monica Jones’ 40th birthday—we are raising funds to support this vital project while also establishing a queer fitness gym focused on community safety and holistic wellness.
