Alabama Hockey is proud to announce its 20th Anniversary! A celebratory thank you to everyone who has helped build the program over the years! A history of legends on the ice and counting!

In support of 20 years, Alabama Hockey seeks to maintain and expand its resources for student athletes. The 20th Anniversary fundraiser will support locker room maintenance, equipment necessities, ice time, and more!

Support Alabama Hockey and help fuel the dreams of dedicated student athletes! As a fully student-run club sport, Alabama Hockey relies on fundraising to continue to operate and grow each year. Every donation directly supports Alabama Hockey players, covering essential costs that include equipment, ice time, team gear, travel expenses, and other season necessities. Your contributions not only ensure the team can compete, but also fosters a thriving community around the sport these athletes love. WHERE WILL YOUR DONATIONS GO?

LOCKER ROOM MAINTENANCE:

Replace and repair locker stalls
Coaches room renovations
Replace and repair locker room doors
Replace ripped and torn carpeting
Repair and install additional lighting
Equipment room renovations

Travel (50%): The Frozen Tide competes against teams in states such as Oregon, Oklahoma, Illinois, and West Virginia, which requires a substantial amount of travel-related expenses. This includes: airfare, vehicle transportation, team meals, and hotel accommodations for a roster of 24-30 skaters and coaches. Being in a geographically isolated hockey region, travel makes up the majority of our $250,000 budget.
Ice Time (30%): Since ice is not conveniently located on Alabama's campus, the Frozen Tide must rent ice time and other respective facility needs for practices and games. Our players drive almost 50 minutes one-way to our home ice rink located in Birmingham, Alabama. With a 34-game season from August to March, ice and facility fees add up quickly.
Equipment (18%): Players must purchase their own equipment, much of which is not covered by team dues. Our biggest priority is ensuring our athletes are equipped with safe and protective gear to compete at their highest level possible.
League Fees (2%): Although such fees are a small percentage of the total budget, league payments are required for every participating ACHA program.

Your donation will allow us to expand the accessibility of the club to more students and help grow the sport of hockey in Alabama and the southeast. ABOUT ALABAMA HOCKEY

The Alabama Hockey Club was founded in 2005 by University of Alabama students. Alabama began play at the ACHA D3 level and was a founding member of the Southeast College Hockey Conference (SECHC) with Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi State, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt. After many successful seasons at D3, Alabama was promoted to the Division 1 level of ACHA hockey in 2015 and played its first D1 game against West Virginia on September 11, 2015. The team won 6-3 and has competed at the D1 level ever since. The program is now in its twentieth season and plays its home games at the Pelham Civic Complex in Pelham, AL.
