Farmworkers are essential to our communities and our food system — yet their hard work often goes unseen and unrecognized. At Proteus, we’re committed to changing that.

This year, we’re proud to host our Nebraska Farmworker Luncheon on August 6 — National Farmworker Appreciation Day. It’s a day dedicated to honoring the contributions of farmworkers and recognizing the vital role they play in Nebraska and across the country.

Proceeds from this event support Proteus programs that provide farmworkers and their families with access to healthcare, education, job training, and other critical resources.

Join us as we come together to celebrate, show our appreciation, and invest in a stronger, more equitable future for farmworkers and their families.

Proteus is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that was established in 1979 in Iowa. Proteus has facilitated the National Farmworkers Jobs Program (NFJP) and the National Farmworker Training Program (NFTP), two federal programs, in Iowa since then. The organization added the Agricultural Health Program, a primary care initiative, in Iowa in 1991. Proteus expanded the NFJP and NFTP services into Nebraska in 2010, and into Indiana in 2013.
