Our Story

Full Figure Productions is a Black-owned, woman-owned 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to creating spaces where independent filmmakers, artists, and storytellers can be seen, heard, supported, and celebrated.

Our work began with a simple but powerful belief: everyone has a story to tell, and every story deserves an opportunity to reach an audience. For more than a decade, we have created film festivals, educational workshops, industry panels, community showcases, and networking opportunities that connect emerging creatives with experienced professionals.

Our flagship festival, A Night of Misfit Films, is now entering its 11th year of celebrating bold, unconventional, and independent storytelling. We also support the Canadian Independent Film Festival in Montréal, expanding opportunities for filmmakers to showcase their work, develop professional connections, and reach audiences beyond their own communities.

Although Full Figure Productions is proudly Black-owned and woman-owned, everyone is welcome. Our programs serve filmmakers, artists, students, professionals, and community members from all backgrounds. We intentionally uplift Black creators and other underrepresented voices while building an inclusive environment where people can learn from one another, form meaningful relationships, and experience the power of storytelling together.

How Your Support Will Be Used

Your contribution will help us continue producing accessible, community-centered festivals and creative programs. Donations will support:

Venue rentals and production expenses
Film screenings and festival programming
Stipends for independent filmmakers, artists, panelists, and workshop leaders
Travel assistance for filmmakers coming from other cities, states, or countries
Educational workshops and professional development opportunities
Film-industry panels featuring active and retired professionals
Audio, lighting, projection, and technical equipment
Marketing, printing, and community outreach
Volunteer support, event staffing, and temporary creative jobs
Reduced-cost and sponsored admission for individuals who may otherwise be unable to attend
Accessibility services and accommodations
Awards, filmmaker recognition, and audience engagement activities

Funding will also help us provide filmmakers with something that is often difficult to access: direct, one-on-one opportunities to speak with people who have worked in the film industry. These conversations can provide practical guidance, encouragement, professional connections, and a clearer path forward.

By supporting Full Figure Productions, you are doing more than helping us host an event. You are helping independent artists share their work, creating paid opportunities, strengthening community connections, and ensuring that stories too often overlooked have a place to be experienced and celebrated.

Every contribution—large or small—helps us keep these festivals alive and continue building opportunities for the next generation of filmmakers and storytellers.

Support the stories. Sponsor the vision. Partner with the movement.
