The Genealogy For Justice™ End Trafficking fund is being renamed in 2025 in honor of the resilient survivors of the Tennessee Children's Home Society.

Authorities estimate the Tennessee Children's Home Society kidnapped and sold about 5000 children in that state from 1924 to 1950 under the guise of legitimate adoptions. This baby selling scheme operated with impunity for decades aided by corrupt legislators, court officials, and prominent families.

“One of our unidentified remains cases quite unexpectedly collided head first with the monster that was Georgia Tann,” said genetic genealogist Allison Peacock, president of FHD Forensic and advisor to Genealogy For Justice in a recent press release. “After speaking with the daughter of one of their victims and several other family members, I didn’t get a good night’s sleep for three days.”

Trafficking children is an abuse and deprivation of the most basic human rights. Children adopted through the black market and issued false birth registrations or no birth registrations lose their fundamental right to identity.

Restorative genealogy is a critical part of the mission for the combined team at Genealogy For Justice and FHD Forensics. From aiding minor children abandoned by Western sex tourists in developing countries, to helping establish the identities of adults sold or stolen as babies, this work has always been a part of our pursuit of justice. Helping those who are unsure of their biological origins due to trafficking or other criminal activities is a calling for us.
