Earthen Futures Studio (EFS) is a Los Angeles located teaching and research-informed studio dedicated to clay, textiles, visual and integrative healing arts practices that are treated as living technologies. Fostering a space for ecological awareness and creative resilience. EFS embraces evolving ways of working with clay, visual arts, fiber-based disciplines and introspective healing processes.

Founded by longtime educator and artist Vanessa Ehecatl Santos (Ancient Pocket) as part of their broader Terra Heaven Eco Arts practice, EFS supports sensory inquiry and regenerative pedagogy. The studio functions as an archive of land and memory, activating dialogue across generations and geographies. With curriculum centering on clay, textiles, visual and healing art modalities, our workshops are designed to cultivate reciprocity and repair.

We’re raising $44,000 to move into a dedicated brick and mortar studio where this work can grow and become more accessible. Your support will help us:

Secure and prepare our first physical studio and teaching space
Source sustainable tools and materials for ceramics, fiber, visual art-making and healing eco-arts practices
Expand equipment: kiln, looms, visual arts supplies, processing aids, work tables, and more
Host workshops and events prioritizing ecological literacy, Indigenous epistemologies, and speculative healing frameworks
Sustain operations during this transition
Develop scholarship opportunities and residency programs
