In honor of Farmers’ Market Week, an anonymous donor has pledged to match your donation dollar-for-dollar up to $20,000 now through August 13, 2022 to spark support for food access at Green City Market.

Green City Market’s primary food access program, GCM For All, allows us to welcome and match Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits 2-to-1 at all our farmers' markets. That means when Chicagoans facing hunger spend $25 of SNAP benefits with Green City Market, they automatically get $50 more to spend to stretch their budget.

Hunger in our community is growing. This season, use of our GCM For All matching program is up over 2.5 times compared to this time last year. The need for our program is critical and you can help today.

When you give and we achieve our goal of raising $40,000 together, we will provide matching funds 1,600 times! Your neighbors who use SNAP benefits at the market will have the funds they need to eat locally, to eat sustainably, to nourish themselves as you do. Your gift today will also generate tens of thousands of additional revenue for local, sustainable farmers and food producers.
