For example, students from your local elementary school exploring a Giant Map of Indiana would benefit from your support enabling them to learn the science of "WHERE": location with latitude and longitude and relative to other locations; distribution and patterns in locations that tell a story; physical systems like landscape indicative of glacial topography important to accessible water, agriculture, forestry, biology, wetlands, development and more; scale utilizing math; human systems like population distribution, roadways, canals, cities and towns. With a better comprehension of Geography (the science of "where"), students are able to answer questions such as: Where is Popcorn, Indiana? Why is it located there? What is the strategic value of the location of Popcorn - yesterday, today and tomorrow? How is Popcorn planning for future natural hazard emergencies? Facing population shifts and economic changes, what resources will Popcorn require in order to meet the needs of today's and tomorrow's students' education? Managing the local budget, how will Popcorn's Administrators prioritize community needs with finite resources: infrastructure, people, cultural, development, environmental, health, education...

Students from your local middle school would benefit from your support providing the Discovering Indiana: Geographic Perspectives of the Hoosier State 2nd Edition, the newest Indiana Atlas designed for and by Indiana educators for education purposes. Within the Atlas, students learn about many aspects of our lovely state: population distribution, tornado occurrences, distribution of rivers and lakes, State Parks, Historic Sites, Historic Indiana, Native peoples and land cessions, IHSAA Basketball Championships, Indiana in the global economy, diversity, heritage, education, land cover, LiDAR, geology and more. Understanding the use of an atlas, the purpose of an atlas, and the information contained within an atlas enables the users to better answer questions and solve problems of a spatial nature, connecting diverse systems. Like a puzzle, Geography provides a bridge to connect various pieces that make the best fit in order to tell a story and find solutions.

Students from you local high school would benefit from your support researching local issues, such as establishing better locations addressing food insecurity "hot spots"; creating plans for revitalizing a local water way through water quality monitoring, reintroduction of native plants, trash and pollution clean-up and collaborative efforts with local businesses/scientists/volunteers; producing advocacy materials on kindness, respect and understanding of Indiana's diverse (global) neighbors; developing connections with local and regional Geography and GIS (geographic information sciences/systems) and GeoSpatial Data Professionals, across hundreds of disciplines, to better understand the role that 21st century Geography and Geographic Literacy plays in their futures.
