We are raising funds to create the Gainesville Walk of Fame, a public tribute honoring our city’s rich musical heritage. Large star-shaped plaques will be installed along the pedestrian streatery in Downtown Gainesville, each celebrating the artists and community figures who have shaped our cultural identity.

Your donation directly supports the design, creation, and installation of these stars.

Developed in partnership with MusicGNV, a group of local residents have been meeting for the past several months to discuss ways to celebrate our region's musical legacy and pay tribute to area artists, innovators and cultural leaders. What formulated was the Gainesville Walk of Fame.

The project aims to preserve the stories of these individuals, while also offering residents and visitors alike a unique way to experience our history as they stroll downtown.

Here's how it will work:

Each year, new honorees will be recognized with a star unveiled during a special community celebration and fundraiser. Selections are made by an advisory committee, after seeking input from diverse community voices, then given to MusicGNV.

The selection process is guided by two key criteria:

Honorees must have either been born in or spent formative creative years in Alachua County.
Their work must have made a national impact and contributed to our shared cultural heritage.

"The Walk of Fame is more than commemoration," said MusicGNV Founder Brandon Telg. "It will serve as a cultural landmark and a catalyst for downtown vitality. By drawing music lovers, history enthusiasts, and visitors into the heart of Gainesville, it will strengthen local businesses, celebrate community pride, and inspire the next wave of artistic expression."
