Each year, we host 2 fundraisers that help us provide a rich, comprehensive, multi-sensory Waldorf curriculum to your children. Your gifts help fund highly specialized teacher trainings, tuition assistance, general facility costs, and more.

As a non-profit organization, our mission depends on the generosity of both our community members and the greater community. Your tax-deductible contributions supplement the resources and programs that develop well-rounded individuals ready to navigate the world confidently.

Just $200 per enrolled child will meet our annual goal. That means as little as $34/mo from October - March per student will help! Every dollar counts, and we strive for 100% community participation.

September 2025

I’ve had the great privilege to be involved with Great Oak School for a long time now, both as a parent and also as a board member for a number of years, and it’s been such a joy to watch Great Oak grow into the school it is today. My oldest son, Owen, started his Waldorf education back in 2009 in a little house on Spring Cypress Road when Great Oak School first began. That group of children eventually went on to become the inaugural class to graduate eighth grade in 2021. Owen then went on to graduate from Tomball High School in 2024. He is currently pursuing a degree in Graphic Design at the University of North Texas.

My middle son, Elliot, also spent his entire early childhood and grades education at Great Oak, and when he graduated from 8th grade, went on to Tomball High School for his freshman year, before transferring to Lone Star College’s dual credit program.

My three step-children, Mia, Alexa, and Benoit, also spent much of their early education at Great Oak School, and are now enrolled at Comquest Academy Charter High School, Tomball High School, and Tomball Junior High School, respectively.

Every single one of our children would tell you how fondly they remember their time at Great Oak. How they felt loved and supported. That they truly enjoyed going to school. How they still to this day want to come back to campus for festivals and to see former teachers. Mia loves the school so much that she has a part-time job there now working as an assistant in Ms. Lindsey’s Butterfly Garden class.

And so, after giving this gift of Waldorf education to our five older children, when our youngest son, Finn, was ready for pre-school, we enrolled him at Great Oak also. He experiences the same delight that the older kids did- he looks forward to school and to seeing his teacher and his friends. He comes home singing songs and re-telling the stories he learns in class. He knows the weekly rhythm and refers to the days of the week by the snack of each day (and bread day is his favorite…just like all the older kids).

So yes, we have six children at six different schools. And all are really excelling where they are.

We believe in Waldorf education and this community so much that my wife, Britney, decided to return to Great Oak School, where she formerly served as both a board member and then as the Administrator up until our youngest was born, to teach Fifth Grade this year.

Finn knows that his big brothers and sisters were a part of Great Oak before he was, and we’re thrilled that he can experience the same supportive and loving environment that they also enjoyed. And we know for certain that the educational model of Waldorf will help provide the basis for him to grow into a well-rounded human. That it will help support him intellectually, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. We can see in our older kids how Great Oak was a really outstanding choice and how what they learned there, both in terms of the curriculum, but also very much about themselves and others and the world they are a part of, will continue to serve them throughout the rest of their education and their lives.
