How Chili Can Change a Community

Our Ambassadors of Change, a group of passionate high school students, are working hard to raise both awareness and critical funds to address food insecurity in the Greater Chattanooga community.

Across Hamilton County, too many students and families face uncertainty about where their next meal will come from. Food insecurity impacts more than hunger. It affects academic performance, mental health, and a child’s sense of dignity. Students see this every day in their schools and neighborhoods, and instead of standing by, our Ambassadors of Change have chosen to act.

This event directly benefits our Ambassadors working with Hope for the Inner City, a trusted community partner providing food and support to families experiencing hardship, while also helping continue our efforts to pay down school food debt for students in Hamilton County. No child should be excluded from a meal at school because of circumstances beyond their control.

The Chili Cook-Off is more than a fun community event. It’s a youth-led response to a real and urgent need. Every dollar raised helps ensure that families have access to food today and that students can focus on learning without the burden of food debt hanging over them.

When you give, you’re doing more than donating. You’re standing alongside young leaders who believe that community care is a shared responsibility, and that small actions, taken together, can lead to meaningful change.
