Dream in Green (DIG) was founded in 2006 to address the unique environmental challenges that threaten South Florida. Since then, DIG has been serving the community by inspiring individuals through its programs to become environmental stewards.

Advancing our mission, the Green Schools Challenge (GSC) program is a long-term, whole-system approach to water, energy, and resource efficiency specific for elementary, middle, and high schools and offers teacher training on implementing lessons. The program engages students in hands-on, educational activities that save water and energy, as well as exposes the school community to the links between our natural resources, climate change, and community sustainability. The impact of our program is that it leads to behavioral changes that promote environmental stewardship.

DIG’s community-driven Water & Energy – Learning and Behavior program (WE-LAB) is designed to engage, educate, and empower communities to better understand environmental and public health issues. WE-LAB’s main objective is to educate residents on the effects water, energy, and waste consumption have on our resources. Participants attending these public environmental education workshops learn about how recycling helps to reduce pollution how hazardous waste threatens their water supply, and how their behavior and actions can reduce carbon emissions.
