Hi, I am not a person that feels comfortable in asking for donations, however, in this case I finely feel like I need to help spread the word on an organization that saved my cousins life 10 years ago. I have personally donated over the years on the organizations website and have played in a few fund-raising golf outings, one in the Atlanta, Georgia area and three in the Baltimore, Maryland area. The organization is, Partners for Cancer Care and Prevention (PFCCAP), in association with the Abdominal Cancers Alliance group. You see, 10 years ago my cousin Gary was given the bad news that he had terminal cancer in several organs in his abdomen. He was told to get his house in order and try to enjoy life as much as he could in the next couple of months. Luckily, my cousin Gary, is not one to give up and searched the web to try and find any potential hope that more could be done. It was a stroke of luck that he came across the PFCCAP organization and a doctor that had been doing a nonconventional procedure that was not widely accepted in the medical field. With several visitations and consultations with the doctor it was determine that my cousin Gary fit the exact criteria that this nonconventional procedure was all about. What they do is remove as much cancer from the abdomen as possible, which can, and usually does involve removing portions of organs that are affected by the cancer. Once the cancer is removed the patient's abdomen is filled with a hot liquid Kemo solution while being rotated side to side, up and down on a table. This allows the Kemo solution to get to all the nooks and crannies in the abdomen to root out all the remaining cancer. It was quite a recovery process, about two years, but if you haven't realized by now that was 10 years ago, and my cousin Gary is doing great. I've had 10 more years of up north family reunions and golf outings that I otherwise would not have had with him. One of the main reasons I decided to take on this activity was to help get more people aware of the PFCCAP organization. If one life can be saved by getting the word out that's all anyone can ask. If you know of a family member, relative, or friend that has been given a terminal diagnosis please pass this information on, it could be what saves their life. Also, I would be very grateful if you could provide a donation to help this organization continue getting the word out and saving lives.
