About the Workshop

“We want generosity for you”. How can you as a pastoral or church leader learn to be a cultural architect of Biblical generosity? Learn how to create a culture of generosity in your ministry context and discover spiritual practices that help to form generous people. We will also explore developing a Theology of Stewardship and Sufficiency. In collaboration with the Presbyterian Foundation, who are enabling us to hold this event at a reduced cost.

About the Instructors

Rev. Dr. David Loleng is the Vice President of Church Financial Literacy and Leadership and Stewardship Education at the Presbyterian Foundation. He has served on National Staff of the Presbyterian Church (USA) for more than 15 years as well as over 20 years of ministry experience in PCUSA churches throughout California. He is the co-author of the three-part Engage (Gospel, Discipleship, Mission) curriculum and contributor to books such as, Sustaining Grace: Innovative Ecosystems for New Faith Communities. David speaks nationally and internationally and has written essays and articles about stewardship and generosity, evangelism, formation and disciple making.

David received his MDiv from Fuller Theological Seminary and DMin from Asbury Theological Seminary. He is a book collector, Oakland Raiders fan and likes taking long walks…to the refrigerator.

Rev. Erin Skinner serves as the Ministry Relations officer for the Cumberland Region (KY, TN, VA). She enjoys helping congregations explore what it means to engage stewardship as a spiritual practice and to help people notice the ways generosity transforms their faith life.

Erin previously served as Director of Admissions at Union Presbyterian Seminary and as a chaplain at VCU Health and Bridgewater College. Erin earned a B.A. in Psychology and Sociology and an MBA from Georgia State University. She received a Master of Divinity from Union Presbyterian Seminary and an M.S. in Patient Counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University. She and her husband, Will, reside in Waynesboro, Va., with their two dogs, Summer and Dean. In their spare time, they spend as much time outside as possible.
