Andrew is 8 years old and battling brain tumors that keep returning. He is one of six children and has a close bond with all his siblings. When speaking with his mom, she mentioned that they love swimming together and staying at hotels. She also told us that Andrew would love nothing more than to go on a helicopter ride. His dream is to grow up and be a Marine. Through many connections and phone calls, the Army National Guard stepped in and invited Andrew and his family out to their base. Andrew was dressed in all the right gear and taken out for his helicopter ride. After his ride, the whole family enjoyed a tour of the grounds where they got to see inside military planes, check out awesome night vision goggles, and learn about how the base operates. One of the pilots gave Andrew a challenge coin, which is often presented by unit commanders in recognition of special achievement. This inspired us to help Andrew design his own challenge coin that he will be able to pass along in return.

Karen is completing her treatment at UH Rainbow Babies & Children for Ewing's Sarcoma, a rare bone cancer that primarily affects children. Karen and her family really needed time together after everything they had been through. Karen, her two siblings, and her parents decided that a weekend at Kalahari Resort would be the perfect trip to spend together. Thanks to the CarsonStrong Foundation, they spent a long weekend splashing around the resort, relaxing in a private cabana, and enjoying delicious meals together. It was the perfect getaway to reconnect as a family!

Kaycee was a loving 10-year-old girl who fought heroically against medulloblastoma, a form of brain cancer. She passed away in July 2024 but is remembered as a very joyful child who enjoyed playing basketball, riding horses, swimming, creating art, playing with stuffed animals, Bible quizzing, singing, and spending time with birds.

Before Kaycee passed away, her family had planned a Gift of Time Together trip to a beautiful cottage. Despite her passing, the family decided to go on the trip as planned. This getaway provided an opportunity for the family to grieve together and reminisce on Kaycee’s beautiful life. They also organized a photo shoot in her memory. Kaycee’s mom later wrote to CarsonStrong after their trip, expressing their gratitude and stating, “During the weekend we experienced triggers, tears, and shared everything about Kaycee that we loved and miss.”
