Antonio and Shelley Gilmore, with a passion for dogs and a background in real estate, took the reins in establishing Gilmore Dog Rescue. Confronted with the critical issue of limited housing for foster dogs at Charlotte CMPD Animal Care and Control, this compassionate couple decided it was time to be part of the solution.

Their rallying cry became clear: "If the problem is no housing for foster dogs, let's create housing!" With this resolute spirit, Antonio and Shelley, along with their dedicated team, embarked on a mission to build a fostering house capable of accommodating up to 50 dogs concurrently.

Believing strongly in providing every dog with a chance at a loving home, the Gilmores engage the community through fundraising events, social media initiatives, and collaborations with local businesses. Their goal is nothing short of remarkable, demonstrating a shared commitment to overcoming the challenges faced by foster dogs in need.

Through the collective generosity of donors and with the tireless efforts of volunteers, the dream of a fostering house WILL become a reality! This new facility will not only alleviate the strain on the CMPD but also serve as a temporary haven where dogs can receive the care and attention required for their journey to finding forever homes!!
