Puck Cancer was co-founded by sisters Sue Padulo and Sandy Cross in 2006. At 26 Sue was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Her love of hockey and desire to skate drove her to a healthy cancer-free life.
To celebrate Sue’s survivorship Puck Cancer was co-founded with the intent to assist others whose lives have been changed by cancer. They took their vision to the one place where they could count on enthusiastic participation, the ice! Hockey players, fans, and enthusiasts alike share a unique passion that they have been able to direct toward making a difference in the fight against this grueling disease.
The Puck Cancer Teams are comprised of siblings, spouses, and longtime friends through the game of hockey. Each of us has been affected by cancer in some way and these tournaments give us a great opportunity to come together for a great cause, while also playing the game we love!
Puck Cancer donates all proceeds to families or individuals battling cancer. It doesn't matter what type of cancer you have or how old you are, we want to help. Helping with the financial aspect can give you a little relief from the stress so that you are able to focus on what's important - getting healthy.
