Missy Corwin's Story

Our younger son, Blake, has an ultra-rare disease called ZTTK. ZTTK was only discovered in 2016, and there are no known cures or treatments. Blake's life with ZTTK Syndrome has been difficult with two skull reconstructive surgeries, tethered spinal cord, eye surgery, ambulance rides, weekly medical appointments and treatments, and always discovering ways to help him. ZTTK is considered a rare disease. One of the challenges of being “rare” is that the burden of fundraising for critical research is often left to the families affected. Our ZTTK community is fortunate to have a foundation that is dedicated to funding research towards treatments and ultimately a cure for the disease. To raise awareness and funds for research, we have organized a 5K for ZTTK Walk during the ZTTK Awareness Month in September! Join us!
