Mentoring Mentors Inc. (MMI) is more than a nonprofit; it's an opportunity for youth to redefine their futures.

MMI is a youth-supportive nonprofit organization that engages and supports youth through an intergenerational, near-peer mentoring model. MMI utilizes positive peer pressure to teach personal and leadership development, self-efficacy, empathy, and community engagement. This approach fosters interdependence, long-term relationships, and a solid commitment to community engagement. Our mission is to create the next generation of community leaders, and since 2014, we have worked with more than 400 students. At MMI, we redefine youth development by focusing on the power of personalized impact over sheer numbers. We pride ourselves on quality, precision, and purpose, channeling every resource into each student’s journey. While some programs may reach thousands, we’re committed to cultivating depth—focusing on outcomes that change lives. A simple truth drives MMI: outcomes are impact. And our impact speaks volumes.

Since our founding in 2014, MMI has uniquely supported students from underserved communities through our pioneering Intergenerational Near-to-Peer Mentoring Model, pairing youth with mentors who share similar backgrounds and experiences. By prioritizing empathy, resilience, and real-world readiness, we cultivate future leaders prepared for college and life. Through each small cohort (10-15 youth), we witness the exponential value of focused, long-term investment in our youth’s potential, proving that real impact isn’t measured by quantity but by the lasting difference made in each life.

MMI has supported youth through diverse programs, including lunch bunch sessions, in-school and after-school programs, and social-emotional and leadership development initiatives by partnering with organizations like the Y of Central Maryland, Coppin Academy High School, and Anne Arundel. We seek to close the gaps that racial, academic, wealth, and entrepreneurial inequalities have created in communities by building a leadership academy grounded in positive relationship building.
