More Than a Lounge

This project is part of a much larger mission.

The Teachers’ Lounge Movement…a National Campaign, exists to transform educators' spaces across the country, creating environments that promote well-being, encourage collaboration, and remind teachers that they matter. Our goal is to bring professionally designed wellness lounges to schools in all 50 states, one community at a time. When one lounge changes, the impact reaches far beyond the room. It strengthens teachers, supports students, and inspires entire communities.

A Space for Those Who Give So Much

Every day, the teachers at Grizzlies Prep show up with grit, compassion, and unwavering dedication to their students. They encourage, mentor, celebrate victories, and help children navigate challenges both inside and outside the classroom. But while they spend their days caring for others, they often have very little space to care for themselves.

That's why The Design Besties created The Teachers' Lounge Movement.

Why Grizzlies Prep?

Grizzlies Prep is more than a school. It's a community built on resilience, teamwork, and the "Grit & Grind" mindset. As the only charter school connected to an NBA franchise, Grizzlies Prep represents perseverance, leadership, and excellence. Qualities of the Grizzlies culture their teachers demonstrate every single day.

We're creating a space for them that reflects that same spirit - and providing a welcoming atmosphere where educators can pause, recharge, and prepare for the important work they do each day.
