Make a recurring donation of $40/month and help families facing food insecurity maintain dignity and choice.
Right now, over 1,000 people are detained at Delaney Hall Detention Center in Newark, NJ — our friends, neighbors, and community members who have been taken by ICE and face deportation. Their detention leaves families suddenly without income, stability, or support.
Every weekend, more than 300 loved ones travel from across New Jersey to visit relatives at Delaney Hall, often desperate to see them before they’re transferred or deported. Many of these families are struggling to meet their most basic needs — and we can help.
The SOMA Mutual Aid Collective is distributing grocery gift cards every week to families visiting Delaney Hall. But the need is growing — and we urgently need your support.
We’re calling on 100 community members to commit to a $40/month recurring donation — just $10 a week. Together, we can raise $4,000/month, enough to provide consistent grocery cards and critical relief for these families.
If you can give more, please do — and if a monthly gift isn’t possible, one-time donations are deeply appreciated. Every dollar helps us show up for our neighbors with compassion and solidarity.
Together, we can feed families, strengthen community, and stand against injustice.
This project is hosted by the SOMA Mutual Aid Collective — a volunteer collaboration between SOMA Action, SOMA Justice, and SOMA Shares. Funds raised will be used to purchase $25 and $50 grocery gift cards distributed weekly through volunteers to families visiting Delaney Hall Detention Center.
