🥫 Help Start the José de Diego Community Food Pantry

Times are getting tougher for many families in our neighborhood. With recent cuts and restrictions to programs like SNAP and other federal food supports, many folks are struggling to put meals on the table and with the cold weather coming many seasonal jobs will be difficult to maintain.

We’re launching a community food pantry right here at José de Diego Community Academy to make sure no child in our school has to learn while hungry, and no family has to go without basic groceries.

Our goal is to raise $10,000 to get it off the ground. The funds will help us:

Buy shelving, equipment, and storage so food stays fresh and accessible
Stock up on pantry staples, fresh produce/perishables, and household essentials
Partner with local grocers and food banks for ongoing supply
Keep the pantry open and welcoming for all de Diego families, no questions asked

This pantry will be built by the community, for the community run by school staff, parents, and volunteers who see the need up close every day.

Every dollar goes directly toward getting food into our families’ hands.
