HOPE Continues in the Spring!

When you think of homelessness I'm sure winter automatically comes to mind. The thought of being cold and out on the streets. But what if I said it is often tougher to be without shelter during the Spring?

Although grateful for the warmth of the sun and longer days the weather becomes more dangerous. Thunderstorms full of damaging winds, and even tornadoes, peak as warm and cool fronts collide. Now consider having to protect your only worldly possessions during this time.

Even those with homes find themselves at the mercy of Mother Nature therefore you can only imagine what those who are desperately seeking shelter may experience.

While spring means new beginnings for many, it leads to a new set of emotional challenges for the unsheltered. The season that breaks through the emotional doom and gloom of winter for many of us, can often exacerbate depression in the homeless.

This is why Blessing Bags of Warmth For The Homeless will continue to remain an active and visual resource in the community. 

A beacon of hope to our unhoused community!

We will continue to provide food, clothing, hygiene products and resource lists as we have been doing for the past two years!

We will continue to make sure everyone we come into contact with knows they are seen, heard and loved!

However we want to do a little bit more this Spring. 

We will replace winter worn socks and shoes with ones ready to take on the miles. A study was done which shows the average able bodied unhoused individual walks an average of 10 to 15 miles per day!!!

Located at 1231 GLENWOOD AVE SE ATLANTA GA 30316 has stepped up to collect athletic shoes for our unhoused between the dates of March 23, 2023 to March 31, 2023. 

Next, we want our friends to be able to clean up and put on new underwear. For some, the first time being able to do so THIS YEAR!!! So we will offer NEW T-Shirts and Underwear!!
