Our Vision: Accessible, equitable and affordable healthy food for those in food insecure communities

We are committed to reducing food insecurity within the Hampton Roads area, through urban farming, educational programming, and by creating a sustainable food system. We manage community gardens that are utilized to train veterans and community members in growing their own food or starting a small scale farm. We give away over 80% of the food grown in our garden to those in need, and
also deliver food to older adults who can’t go shopping because of health concerns or not having
any transportation. Our goal is to promote healthy eating and help communities build a new
relationship with food, the soil, and Earth

Hampton Roads Urban Agriculture is committed to combating food insecurity in our marginalized communities beyond just handouts, we want to create a resilient community that will grow from generation to generation.
