Why I’m Running Leadville

In August 2026, I’ll be running the Leadville 100 Ultramarathon.

It’s a 100-mile race in the mountains of Colorado that starts at 4:00 AM, climbs over 12,000 feet, and pushes people physically and mentally in a pretty unique way.

It’s a difficult race, but that’s part of the appeal

How This Connects to Eleventh Element

Eleventh Element exists to combine and elevate the importance of physical and spiritual health by providing a consistent and intentional presence to the fitness community. We are uniquely positioned to be a biblically faithful extension and expression of the local church and we believe:

formation takes time
growth requires effort
and people don’t change in isolation

That’s why we meet people in gyms, build consistent rhythms, and walk with them over time.

In a lot of ways, a 100-mile race is a pretty good picture of that process.

An Interesting Approach To The Miles...

We’re using this race as a way to raise support for Eleventh Element—but more specifically, to make it tangible.

Instead of just asking people to give generally, we’re opening up all 100 miles of the race to be adopted.

Similar to the "Adopt A Highway" signs you see while driving...

When you adopt a mile, you’re simply choosing to support the mission through a specific part of the race.

Miles 1–60 are $100
Miles 61–80 are $200
Miles 81–90 are $300
Miles 91–100 are $500

You can adopt one mile or a few.

We’ll keep a running list of who has which mile, and that will be reflected on the website.

No pressure, just providing a cool opportunity for you to participate in what God is already doing through EE.

Why We Like This Approach

It makes the whole thing more personal and more connected.

During the race, I’ll know which miles are tied to which people. When I hit those sections, I’ll be thinking about the people behind them and what they’re helping make possible.

And on your end, you’ll be able to track progress and know roughly when your mile is happening.

If you want to pray during that time, great.

If you just want to follow along, that’s great too.

It creates a pretty special and unique shared connection to what’s happening.

What Your Support Actually Goes Toward

This isn’t about covering race expenses.

Everything raised goes toward the ongoing work of Eleventh Element, including:

Weekly gatherings inside gyms
The continued countless Gospel Conversations we're having on a regular basis
Discipleship and Leadership Development
Community events and outreach
Expansion into new locations (local to South Florida and beyond)
And ultimately the incredible stories of changed lives where individuals are experiencing the hope of the Gospel

Every donation is exactly that, a donation, and you will be provided an end of year giving statement for tax purposes.
