Hi Everyone!

Thank you for visiting our How To Love Yourselfie (HTLYS) CAMP page! Our camp will have a special focus on back-to-school preparation, aiming to help kids and young adults feel confident and strong as they enter the new school year, and foster self-love and empowerment! We understand the challenges of transitioning back to school after summer break and want to provide valuable tools and support to assist our youth in adjusting and thriving during this period.

What is How To Love Yourselfie? Where did we get the inspiration for an HTLYS CAMP?! Well, our non-profit Breaking The Chains Foundation has an online program to help youth navigate social media with a positive and enriching experience. So what is that?

How To Love Yourselfie is an online social media literacy & eating disorders prevention program.

What is How To Love Yourselfie CAMP?

How To Love Yourselfie Camp is a day serving youth and teens, where each one can engage and embrace all their unique qualities through self-awareness, self-love, self-enrichment, creativity, empowerment, and fun! Our activities are designed to empower those qualities about themselves and tap into their unlimited potential. We hope that each one of them enjoys this day to the fullest, leaving each with an enriched sense of self, cherished memories of sharing time with others, and a toolbox of positive experiences that bring them joy and can strengthen their everyday communities!

• HTLYS CAMP will have different stations of various art forms, creative genres, artistic outlets, cooking, health, and wellness activities within sections dedicated to those art forms.

• Participants will be put in their “selfie” groups and travel around the fun-filled venue together. We have multiple activity sessions that rotate, facilitated by various BTCF board members, ambassadors, and celebrities. Each of them specializes in their area of expertise.

• We teach, serve, and engage the youth through their natural curiosity and instincts. Within each art form and/or activity, there are choices and guidance to nurture the activity along. Throughout the process, the participants' expressive creations will unfold and shine! Leaving it open to their interpretation and discussion.

Breaking the Chains Foundation (BTCF) is committed to the prevention of body-focused and mental well-being stigmas. Our mission is to use the power of art and expression to foster creativity, build connections, and create a community in which individuals can thrive. We do this by transforming research and personal stories into artistic programs aimed at increasing self-love, self-esteem, self-compassion, and self-awareness. Tapping into those internal strengths and protective factors can greatly enhance mental, physical, and emotional health. Whereas experiencing stigma of mental health struggles, isolation, and the pressures of body-focused societal messages are examples of links in the chains that bind us. Our programs and advocacy are designed to Break these Chains!

We are a creative and artistic grassroots movement! Breaking The Chains Foundation offers positive, well-rounded art-based nurturing impact with a desire for healing – to be impactful and create change.

We do this in a variety of ways. Behind each of them are self-expressive creative works of rich personal stories.

Our goals:

To break the chains of negative body image, disordered eating, related mental health issues, and the stigma associated with each.
To provide resources for those looking to “link” with others on their healthy mental and emotional wellness journeys.
To change the conversation around and stigma attached to body-image struggles and related mental health issues.
To see beyond what is on the outside, but rather focus on the inside.

With your help we can continue to create pathways to channel healing and well-being through the process of artistic expression in all its forms.
