Meet the Campbell Family. Three-year-old Hannah, her sister Makensie (11), mom Jordan, and dad Justin are a family that truly loves making the most of every moment together. Whether they're swimming, hiking, exploring nature, attending local community events, or simply singing and dancing around the house, they treasure every opportunity to be together. Hannah especially loves anything involving water, being outdoors, high-energy indoor adventures, Bluey, Peppa Pig, and she's never met a charcuterie board she didn't love!

Life, however, has looked very different for the Campbells over the past several years. In 2021, Jordan and Justin experienced the heartbreaking loss of their son, Isaiah, just shy of 23 weeks into pregnancy. Then, on the two-year anniversary of Isaiah's passing, their world was turned upside down once again when Hannah was diagnosed with Wilms' tumor in May of 2023. After completing months of chemotherapy in October of that year, the family finally hoped they could begin putting cancer behind them. Sadly, in December of 2025, doctors discovered a new tumor, which, because of Hannah's WT1 gene mutation, is considered a new growth rather than a relapse, which has meant starting the fight all over again.

As of July 15, 2026, Hannah will have completed a combined 38 weeks of chemotherapy and 6 rounds of radiation, followed by at least 4.5 years of regular ongoing monitoring and follow-up appointments. The emotional toll has been overwhelming, but so has the financial burden. When Hannah was first diagnosed, Justin was laid off from his job. Thankfully, he has since been employed for the past three years in the fiber communications field, working his way from an entry-level position to Warehouse Manager and now Supervisor. Jordan, meanwhile, has only been able to work sporadically for the past several years due to caring for Hannah. Despite Justin working full-time and continuing to advance in his career, his income barely covers the family's basic needs, while also resulting in Hannah's insurance being moved from Medicaid to CHIP. Add to that the fact that the family travels two hours each way for treatment, and with the cost of gas, that alone has become a burden. One of Hannah's medications, an antibiotic that treats her kidney complications, costs more than $1,000 out of pocket, and the costs of radiology scans and specialist readings have continued to pile up well beyond what their family budget can sustain. Unfortunately, CHIP simply isn't designed to cover the immense expenses that can come with childhood cancer. The family has applied and reapplied for Medicaid multiple times, but they've been denied each time.

As you can imagine, this has been a long and exhausting road for the Campbell family, and unfortunately, their journey is far from over. They need all the love and support our community can provide.
