February is a month in which people often celebrate love and romance in the air. For our family, the month signifies something else entirely. Five years ago on Valentine's Day, our Drew was diagnosed with the rare and fatal muscle wasting condition known as Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. It's an especially cruel disease as it has no cure and minimally effective treatments to slow down its progression, especially in a rare gene mutation like Drew's.

In Drew's case it surfaced when he was old enough to realize all the abilities it slowly started taking from him: running and playing, a life without regular medical appointments/infusions/daily medications, and even the ability to walk.

But Drew has the heart of a warrior and isn't about to give in to this disease and neither are we. Help us help Drew in the continued efforts to provide him with the best experimental treatments we are able to, medical devices he needs, and a fulfilling life.
