4th Annual Walk Away Homelessness
Saturday from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM EDT
In light of the news from the disrespectful administration to approve discrimination against the trans community in the shelter system, we are diligently continuing our mission to fight housing disparities in NYC. The Housing and Urban Development Agency announced a proposed rule that would allow homeless shelters that receive federal funding to discriminate against transgender people. This creates unsafe conditions and unsafe barriers to housing and services for trans people in the midst of a global pandemic. Please join us in our 3rd Annual walk to eradicate homelessness. We can take care of our own community with the resources we provide daily. #HousingIsHealthcare.
Walk Away Homelessness in New York
The mission of Princess Janae Place is to help people of trans experience maximize their full potential as they transition from homelessness to independent living. Princess Janae Place fulfills our mission by offering a safe space for people of trans experience to connect with community, access gender affirming support, as well as engage in educational and recreational activities. Princess Janae Place serves as a critical referral source for our members to secure housing navigation, substance use, mental health resources, legal assistance, job training/placement and health care.
We are a grass roots trans lead community-based organization focused on helping make the world around us a better, happier place. With the help of our tireless staff, we organize fundraisers, exciting community-building events, and in-depth training sessions for our clients, volunteers, & staff.
We are proud to announce, The 3rd Annual Help The Homeless NY Walk.
