Lebanon is in dire straits and, unfortunately, our fellow Suryoye continue to feel the brunt of the political and religious turmoil. In addition to the treacherous living conditions they endure, their access to fundamental education remains threatened.

Suryoyo high school students living in Lebanon need our help now more than ever due to rapidly rising inflation and unemployment rates. These factors have contributed to an insurmountable cost of tuition to attend even the most basic forms of schooling, causing some of our fellow Suryoye to drop out due to a lack of funds. Prices for essentials like food and water are at an all- time high, adding more pressure on these students and their families to choose what is more important: basic education or putting food on the table.

The Syriac Cross Organization, in tandem with Syriac Youth Lebanon, will be raising money to FULLY fund high school tuition costs for approximately 50 Suryoyo students living in Lebanon, and they are asking us to join them in raising $10,000 to achieve this goal.

The Syriac Cross Organization will work directly with Syriac Youth Lebanon to individually enroll each of the students at their respective high schools once we reach our fundraising goal. For many, this will serve as a determining factor for their enrollment in high school.

We ask for contributions towards this vital cause to help provide some relief to the young Suryoyo students of Lebanon from the daily struggles that plague the region. It is heartbreaking to see the constant burden these young people and their families carry to provide for the most basic needs like food and water, often forcing education to take a back seat.

Today, we are asking you to help lessen that burden by supporting this cause to help educate the Suryoyo youth of Lebanon so they may go on to have brighter futures.

Der Libanon befindet sich aktuell in einer schwierigen Situation und bedauerlicherweise bekommen die Suryoye die politischen und religiösen Unruhen nach wie vor am stärksten zu spüren. Neben den schlechten Lebensbedingungen, die sie ertragen müssen, bleibt ihr Zugang zu grundlegender Bildung weiterhin gefährdet.

Die im Libanon lebenden Suryoye-Schüler benötigen unsere Hilfe nun mehr denn je, da die Inflation und die Arbeitslosigkeit rasant ansteigen, was dazu führt, dass die Schulgebühren selbst für die grundlegendsten Schulformen unbezahlbar geworden sind, so dass einige der Suryoye die Schule aus Geldmangel abbrechen mussten.
