Nourishing More than 2,700 Seniors a Day in Alameda County

With your support, we will deliver over 2,700 care packages to each homebound senior enrolled in Meals on Wheels. Each care package (at just $9 each) will include hand sanitizer, a flashlight, batteries, a puzzle book, a dental hygiene kit generously donated by Delta Dental, a mini first aid kit, pocket tissues, and a handwritten card. These are items hand-picked and delivered in a festive bag designed to help socially isolated seniors feel more connected to their community during this holiday season. We aim to deliver more than just a meal, with these care packages, our goal is to deliver joy, warmth, and connection.

About Meals on Wheels of Alameda County

Meals on Wheels of Alameda County enables homebound seniors to maintain their independence by providing financial support and strategic assistance to Meals on Wheels programs that deliver nutritious meals and perform wellness checks.

Especially as we continue to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, our seniors need and deserve safe, nourishing meals delivered directly to them. While the pandemic might have slowed down for many, seniors are still at high risk of becoming seriously ill from COVID-19. We need your support now more than ever!

Meals on Wheels of Alameda County was founded in 1987 (as Countymeals-on-Wheels) and is a non-profit 501(c)(3), governed by a Board of Directors and administered by an Executive Director. Meals on Wheels of Alameda County serves as an umbrella organization to the six independent Meals on Wheels delivery programs throughout the county, which prepare and deliver more than 2,700 meals to homebound seniors every delivery day.
