Team Bolder Options is a charity team of athletes who are running in honor of youth in our community. They commit to raising money in support of youth mentoring programming, while also taking on the challenge of participating in the 2024 Twin Cities Marathon or 10 Mile Race.

Bolder Options is a one-on-one, wellness-based mentoring program for youth seeking extra support to realize their full potential. Bolder Options’ mission is to teach youth to succeed in all of life’s races. Our goal is to ensure that the promise of youth in our community is realized, regardless of their life circumstances.

Mentoring pairs meet for 2-4 hours weekly for at least one year. At the heart of this experience is the commitment made by each pair to complete three events per pillar (Healthy Living, Lifelong Learning, Social-Emotional Development, and Community Connectivity), through which mentors help model how to set and incrementally work towards challenging goals.

After meeting their goals and staying together for at least 12 months, pairs celebrate at a graduation ceremony for mentors, mentees, and families. Youth can then remain involved at Bolder Options through our Alumni Program which extends the positive effects of mentoring into first jobs and internships and, ultimately, career paths at the critical age of late teens and early adulthood.

By focusing on confidence, positive youth development, and career achievement through positive role-modeling, youth learn to achieve the success that underlies career ambitions and allows youth to succeed both now and later in life.
