The Little Cocoa Bean Company was founded with a simple but powerful vision: to make healthy food more convenient, fun, and culturally inclusive for young children. More than just a café, we are a movement dedicated to reimagining what it means to dine with kids. We believe all children deserve access to nutritious, thoughtfully prepared meals that celebrate global flavors and reflect the diversity of the families we serve.

In 2022, we opened The Tot Café, an eatery designed with both children and caregivers in mind. Our fast-casual café provides a welcoming space where families can gather, play, and enjoy nutrient-rich, globally inspired meals. By centering the needs of parents, we have established a much-needed “third place” for families—a space that fosters community, connection, and belonging.

Now, we are expanding our impact by bringing The Tot Café experience to the Boston Children's Museum—one of the most beloved family destinations in the city. This exciting new location will allow us to introduce even more families to our mission while providing a thoughtfully designed space where kids can eat, play, and explore, and caregivers can take a much-needed moment to relax.

Economic empowerment is at the heart of everything we do. We hire from within our community, pay competitive wages, and are actively working toward an employee-owned model by the end of 2025, ensuring that the people who build our business also share in its success.

At The Little Cocoa Bean Company, we believe that all children deserve access to nutritious, delicious meals—regardless of their family's financial situation. To further our mission, we have launched a crowdfunding campaign to make meals at our new café in the Boston Children's Museum free for children from income-constrained families. By supporting this initiative, you're helping us create a welcoming space where every child can enjoy wholesome food, build healthy eating habits, and feel a sense of belonging.
