On Sunday, February 22, 2026 at 3:00 pm, Staley High School will host a remarkable musical event: a combined concert featuring the Kansas City Jazz Orchestra (KCJO) and the NorthWinds Symphonic Band of Kansas City. This unique collaboration brings together two of our region’s finest ensembles—KCJO, Kansas City’s own professional big band comprised of some of the area’s most outstanding jazz artists, and NorthWinds, a premier symphonic band known for its outstanding musicianship and community engagement.

Our shared goal is to present a free concert for local patrons, families, and especially students. This performance will give young musicians and community members a rare opportunity to hear exceptional artists from two closely related musical traditions—jazz and wind band—on the same program. With free admission for students and parents, this event directly supports the educational missions of both KCJO and NorthWinds by making great music accessible to all.

To make this special event possible, we are seeking supporters to help us raise the funds necessary to cover the costs of this unique performance opportunity. Your contribution will ensure that students and families can experience an inspiring afternoon of world-class music at no charge, strengthening music education and cultural enrichment throughout the Kansas City area.
