DECA Series Concerts
Monday at 7:00 PM EDT
In Person
The DECA Concert Series is a celebration of our ensemble’s 10-year anniversary! We are featuring works from past programs, introducing new works to our repertoire, and have commissioned two young composers— Kristapor Najarian, Armenian composer who resides in Paris, France; and Hannah Ishizaki, a Pittsburgh-native who is the recipient of the Kovner Fellowship at the Juilliard School. We kickstart this celebration with two of the four programs featuring chamber music that highlights the woodwinds, and includes our first conductor collaboration to date with Geoffrey Larson, Music Director of Seattle Metropolitan Chamber Orchestra and Chorus Master and Assistant Conductor of Berkshire Opera Festival, who will conduct Igor Stravinsky’s Soldier’s Tale and Ann Marie Simon’s Wind Dixtuor. In addition we invite Soprano Zuly Inirio for a full program collaboration including an adapted version of Samuel Barber’s Knoxville Summer of 1915 for chamber ensemble and Kristapor Najarian’s new composition for soprano, winds, and harp.
Story
The Incidental Chamber Players is a music collective focused on reviving hidden gems in the chamber music repertoire. Performing works that are unjustly forgotten or rarely heard, I.C.Players create ‘incidental’ programs threaded together by their woodwind identity. The collective is a core of woodwind players working with collaborators to produce an immersive concert experience.
