Both my own mother and mother-in-law suffer from VCP disease but they present in different ways. VCP causes disease that erode muscles, bone, and the brain.
My husband Brandon and I are caregivers for his mom, Araceli, and will help her to complete challenges this week. Challenges for her are everyday activities that the normal person doesn't put much thought into. She requires assistance to move in any way. Despite facing the challenges of dementia, Araceli still has a few precious abilities, and it's our goal to help her preserve them through regular movement. Staying mentally and physically stimulated is the only therapeutic option to fight this disease.
Brandon and I both volunteer for Cure VCP Disease who is pioneering research and gene therapy. Collaboration on VCP is booming and a treatment is just around the corner. We need all the funding we can get to support these projects and end the devastation that VCP disease cause. Please consider contributing any amount or sharing our story!
We can't thank you enough!
