VCP has attacked many people in my family including myself, my mother, aunt, uncle, grandmother and cousins. It is a progressive disease that attacks my body and affects my mobility. VCP shortens my life expectancy and limits my lifestyle. I lose mobility with each passing day. I recently broke my leg and I am completely chair/bed bound. I need assistance for EVERYTHING. My body does not recover like a “normal” person. Aside from the physical challenges, this disease causes emotional stress and frustration. I used to be a participant in life and now I have become a spectator. We have wonderful doctors and researchers fighting for a cure, however, it is a costly adventure.
