TL:DR - Donate money to help my roller derby team and I'll skate in circles and get silly with it!

Hello friends and family!

As most of you know, roller derby has become a huge part of my life in the last couple of years. Between giving me my first ever major injury (broken ankle) to becoming the chosen family that I didn’t know I needed, my roller derby team has given me so much! The Rocktown Rollers is a non-profit that was established in 2009, and I have been on the Board of Directors for the last two years. Because of our status, we need to raise money each year to pay for our practice and game space, to establish gear and dues scholarships, and to continue donating our time and percentages of proceeds to other organizations in our community. Some such organizations include Our Community Place, the Virginia Wildlife Center, the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, and the Friendly City Safe Space. As a community, we never want money to be a barrier to participation, so gear scholarships and our Financial Aid Program are important to fully fund each year.

I am participating in our first Skate-A-Thon on Thursday, 8/29 and we have set a goal of $5,000! We will be live-streaming the event on Facebook, and I'm willing to get silly for donations! For anyone who donates over $75, I will wear an item or accessory of your choice! Wigs? You got it! Vampire cape? I'm in! I will also be interacting with viewers on the live stream, and every donor gets a thank you poster (unless you want to be a super secret squirrel donor)! I'm collecting donations as one-time flat donations, recurring flat donations, per-lap pledges, or any combination thereof!

Per-lap pledges won't be billed until the day of the Skate-A-Thon. Recurring donations can be scheduled to start on any day of the month and can be as low as $10/month!
