For 40 years, INDY has published award-winning journalism about about the politics and people that make the Triangle what it is.

We're committed to growing our team in Durham to bring you more of the in-depth reporting and essential context that helps you understand—and shape—the future of your community. With the support of readers, through this fundraising drive, INDY's newsroom will expand to become the largest in nearly a decade. We've got an ambitious plan to sustainably expand local journalism, including a new partnership with the statewide journalism outlet The Assembly to strengthen our hyperlocal work with the state-level context and depth readers need.

By raising funds from readers like you, we'll ensure we have the resources to publish compelling, independent journalism for years to come - free for all to access.

Your support will help support two full-time reporters. One reporter focused on all things education in the Triangle, including our public and private K-12 and higher ed system. And one reporter focused on local government in Durham, including city council, county commission, and how the complicated policy process impacts the city and its residents.
