This International Women's Day, Saturday, March 8th, we’re celebrating the incredible ways we empower women and girls in Cambodia every day!

How Does Caring for Cambodia Help Women and Girls?

In Cambodia, gender inequality continues to limit opportunities for women and girls. Many young girls face barriers to education due to poverty, cultural norms, and a lack of access to essential resources like hygiene products and school supplies. Without support, they are more likely to drop out of school, marry young, and have limited career prospects.

At Caring for Cambodia (CFC), we believe that education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty. That’s why we provide gender studies courses, confidence-building workshops, and health and hygiene care—ensuring that girls stay in school, gain leadership skills, and build a brighter future for themselves and their communities. Today, more than 50% of the students and teachers in our programs are women and girls—a milestone we are proud to share!

However, our work isn’t just for women and girls—we educate entire communities and ensure that both boys and girls participate in gender equity programs. By fostering awareness, respect, and shared responsibility, we help drive systemic change, creating a future where all individuals have equal opportunities to learn, lead, and thrive.

This year, we’re aiming to raise $2,500 to continue supporting education, confidence, and opportunities for Cambodian women and girls.
